Beijing, China (LifeNews.com) -- Chinese officials are coming under heavy criticism from a leading pro-life member of Congress who is upset they are considering forcing a woman who is six months pregnant to have an abortion. China strictly enforces its one-child family planning policy and uses forced abortions and sterilizations to do so.

What separates the case of Arzigul Tursun from others is that the woman is 26 weeks into her pregnancy and the abortion would very likely cause her health problems.

Tursun is also a Muslim Uighur woman and Chinese family planning officials don't normally enforce the one-child law as rigorously with minorities as they do on people of Chinese decent.

Tursun is currently at the Municipal Watergate Hospital in the extreme northwestern part of China and the baby would be her third child if she is allowed to complete the pregnancy.

Her husband says officials in their village of Yining learned of the pregnancy and they warned the couple that their property would be confiscated if Tursun did not have an abortion.

According to McClatchy newspapers, the case has attracted the attention of Rep. Chris Smith, a New Jersey Republican congressman who is a leading pro-life advocate.

Smith has written to Zhou Wenzhong, the China ambassador to the United States, and demanded that the "nightmare of a forced abortion" not be used in Tursun's case.

"The Chinese Government is notorious for this barbaric practice, but to forcibly abort a woman while the world watches in full knowledge of what is going on would make a mockery of its claim that the central government disapproves of the practice," Smith said, according to the news service.

The couple already have two children and they returned to their village when they learned their home and property would be confiscated.

"We considered our two girls," the husband told McClatchy. "If the house and properties were taken away, how would they live? So my wife came back home and went to the hospital."

Forced abortions in China has become an issue in the United States as incoming president Barack Obama is likely to fund the UNFPA, a United Nations agency that has been involved in the forced abortions there.

My embarassing moment.

Well I wrote on my other blog about how I went to do a radio show early Wednesday morning. You can check the details on www.livingloveoutloud.blogspot.com, anyway....

I was waiting for my pastor at McDonalds early in the morning, it was still dark. I was outside waiting and apparently there was a homeless person's cart and bags about 10 feet away from me. A very nice man approached me and asked me if that was my stuff over there. I looked and said "No" politely, then realized he thought I was homeless!!!! I immediately asked him "DO I LOOK HOMELESS?" now I wasn't being rude, I honestly wanted to know. If so then maybe I could do something different with the scarf I had on or burn the whole outfit. Anyway I can imagine how rude I sounded, I didn't mean to. He quickly returned the comment with "I just thought that since times were tough I was going to buy you breakfast!" OMG !!!!!!!!!!!! He was going to buy me breakfast because he thought I was homeless. sigh. Oh well, I didn't match and my clothes were actually kinda baggy and I wasn't wearing socks with my shoes.

Spilt milk

"Did you get the milk out Abby? " Me

"No," Her

this goes on like this for a while,

Finally she, intent on proving her alleged innocence questioned Judah about his interest in milk

"Judah do you like milk?" she inquires

"Yes", is the innocent answer, having no idea he is being set up.

She looks at me with those blue eyes trying to cast a reasonable doubt, it works for a second but then I remember who I am dealing with. I watch her casting looks to the floor and twiddling her fingers.

"Abby you are the only one who gets into the milk, tell me the truth." Me
"Are you going to be mad at me?" Her
"Does it matter?" Me
"Well I did it on accidentally purpose." Her

pause

"What does purpose mean?" Her

Judah chimes in to give his definition
"Purpose means you get in trouble."

there you go.

My new BFF

Abby was sleeping in my room (she snuck in there when Nettie fell asleep) I heard some moaning, with bits of crying. I knew she was having a bad dream. I put the TV on pause and went to check on her, expecting nightmares of dino's or spiders. She was twisting around and whimpering. She began mumbling in her sleep. I got closer to hear what she was saying. "Mom will you be my best friend, I love you mom, I just want my mom" I hugged her and chocked back tears. See today she had a hard day being left out by her brother and his friends. She told me she felt left out. Poor baby.

Forget Brad Pitt, Steve is so cute.

Well I am pretty open about this, my husband certainly knows how I feel about ol Stevie boy. Am I crazy or is he just the most darling little thing? I watched Get Smart tonight and he always cracks me up!! He never fails to deliver. Loved the movie, but of course Steve is what made it so good. :)

Farm Life

You know we thank God before our meals, so that we can remember the bounty he gives us, and how he takes care of us. Unfortunately it is hard to remember the rain that grew the crops and the sun that fed the little buds of wheat when you are ripping open a package of (I am embarrassed to say)... cheese filled fish sticks. I know gross. Or throwing some instant oatmeal and a few frozen blue berries on the table for breakfast. We are so removed from the process of our food as we turn more and more to processed food.

I wish I lived on a farm, so I could see the majesty of God's hand in the making of my food.
