Dear God,
Thank you for Judah, thank you for his beautiful eyes to see with so he doesn't walk into walls. Thank you for his cute tummy to tickle and thank you for his cute head so he can make good decisions. Amen. Smell my stinky feet.
This cute little prayer was said all while torturing his brother with tickles and rough housing. Boys. Abby just looked at me and said with a smile, "I need a sissy uh?"
We are waiting just 3 days until court, tomorrow will make a mere two. yikes.
Decided I will leave if I pass court on the 21 of June arriving in Ethiopia on the 23rd and leaving to come home the 30th. This is all God willing of course. Come to find out June-September is their peek travel season. Nice. It is supposed to be rainy!!!! Who wants to travel in the rain, must be family stuff. I don't know.

Movies should come with warnings
A while back ago I listed different kids movies and why kids shouldn't watch them. I have one to add to my list.
Alvin and the Chipmunks.
Okay so I am a total numb skull. I thought "Alvin and the Chipmunks" rated G right? WRONG. I let my kids see it with their grandma when it came out in the movie theaters, it was bad and never did anything bad come from it. We rented it and later decided to watch it with the kids. I was disgusted at some of the pure garbage in there. Lets see:
She's Hot - Mason now thinks it is okay to say this, NOT!!
Bou chick a wow wow- Why is this necessary?
and my fave, the Dave chant ....
"Dave likes to wear dirty underwear with hair" ya. I know what the ????
Okay so I have told my kids not to say this but tonight at my sisters church we visited the children's pastor was named Dave. So guess what they sang to him? ya. I was so angry I couldn't see straight. Angry at me angry at my kids angry at the movie. I am getting rid of all these movies and will no longer assume the are okay for kids to watch. Even the ones that look innocent.
Not to mention the other night Mason was being obnoxious and trying to breathe on me his breath to gross me out or something, so I sternly said to stop it was rude and he looked shocked at first maybe a bit embarrassed then he said with a smile "I like a woman with a little fire" ya. I know the kids has these one liners. Apparently that is a Flushed Away line. So between that and this I am done.

Mothers Day according to Abigail
Well mothers day for me wasn't one of fan fare, nor would I expect it to be. Again I am of the notion this is just another way to sale 6 dollar greeting cards, apply pressure to unsuspecting husbands everywhere, feed the sense of "entitlement" and just generally become more "self focused" I do however buy into this a little bit, for instance, I did plan to enjoy breakfast in bed and when Gary asked me to get up and come fold the breakfast burritos I strictly said "no" it was mothers day and reminded him of his promise. I did feel slightly entitled. I also stayed in bed reading until noon. What can I say, I am an opportunist.
Abigail highlighted my mothers day with unknowing comedy. She made me laugh like crazy and what more can a mom ask for?
She slept with me because of bad dreams last night and woke to share my breakfast in bed. Mason was to engulfed in Word Girl to participate and Judah just snarled at me for some reason. After I shared half my breakfast with Abigail, and some with the begging dog and finally Mason, she wished me Happy Mothers Day, and explained that Kids day was next. Apparently kids day follows mothers day and is much more important. It includes gold medals as well. After a while of reading and increased background insanity coming from beyond the solitude of my bedroom, Abby came to me distraught and whiny. "Is mothers day over yet, it's going forever!"(mind you it was only 11:00 am) "When is it kids day!!!"
So anyway with that I am off. I did not include that I will be receiving a bottle of perfume as well. I get one bottle of perfume a year, or I allow myself one bottle, I should say. With that I take advantage of my own entitlement on mothers day. I will be cashing in at ULTA. Happy Mothers Day to me and all of you on the battle front.
PS Judah did end up calling me "mamssweeta" cute even if he confused it with Mamasita.

Cats and why I don't like them
I really am sorry in advanced if this offends anyone. It must be said. You remember those cute baby doves that we discovered and watched hatch and begin to grow up? http://desertbrains.blogspot.com/2008/05/new-life.html well they are no more.
I am so mad, this is my yard, we built and landscaped our yard to attract birds, and lizards specifically because we enjoy them, and then some neighborhood cat comes prowling around MY YARD and ate my birds. MY BABY BIRDS. Outside the fact that it was sad to see the nest empty we just didn't know what happened, then my son came to us this morning with a dove foot in his hand and tears in his eyes. I am so mad.
I want to know this, and I may offend some, but why is it okay for cats, pet cats, to be loose? They poop in my yard, pee in my car and on my porch and poop in our kids sand box next door to our house. Not too long ago I accidentally left my car window down, I mean really! a cat peed or sprayed and as we were going to church I sat in it!!!! We were for a while experiencing toddlers picking the cat poop up and putting it in their mouths. Keep you cats indoors. What is the problem, they cry? then don't have a cat. I am so upset. If my little dog were running around pooping all over the place, peeing on others cars and destroying others property someone would sue me I am sure, but it is okay for cats. I don't get it.

The Requested Carrot to Dog via spitting
Okay it took me forever to figure this out but here it is Julia, it was worth and still makes me laugh so hard. This is Abigail my darling daughter age 1. She went through a phase where she "shot" everything from her mouth, she could catch good air and things would fly out of her mouth at great distances. Peas, carrots, Cheerios, you name it. We laughed once and then it didn't stop and became an embarrassment to us, she would send things flying everywhere, dinner table, restaurants, airports, you name it. The dog didn't mind.

What was I thinking, really?
Okay, before I had kids I had great plans of how I was going to raise them, the cool things we would do. Take dinner time for instance, in my dreams we would sit and listen to classical music while we dined. My darling well dressed children would know the composors by names. I would be a terrific mom and expose them to foreign foods, art and culture. My kids would know their manners and how to properly set a table. They would sit up straight and speak poperly at the table. If they didn't like a certain food they would simply say "Mother I dont' care for that" They would say grace and it would be a profound moment every night as the Holy Spirit settled upon us. We would discuss politics, art and science at the table and my kids would be so well behaved I would able to take them to fancy restaurants without fear.
(screeching tire sounds).......................
not.
I sat tonight exhausted and somehow reminded of all my grand plans, I imagined Nettie there smiling and joining in or at least learning the crazy that describes our family.
Reality is this. Poop is a really funny word when you are 6,4 and 3 and 37. Chewing with you mouth open is just practical as you can say Poop more often. Licking a bowl of yogurt is considered not wasting. Breaking out with a random tap dance a top your chair is just dinner entertainment. Mismatched plates and cups and silverware is really just an artistic expression of individuality. Clearing the table is a time saver because there are 50 million Lego pieces that haven't been fully dumped on the dining room floor and that is just tradition. Toys at the table, under the table and over the table serve as decorative pieces, who needs flowers and candles? Napkins are useless when you have your sleeve and why not go "green" anyway? Food on the wall, science and art mixed in one.
So you see although this wasn't my dream I couldn't have imagined a better life.

Bunk Bed Mania
Okay court date is quickly approaching!!! Weight is quickly dropping!!! I am seeing a special doctor today to discuss a weight loss program which is what I need and something I am ready for. I need to be healthy.
So on a different and unrelated note: Gary completed, well almost, Mason's bunk bed or loft bed. Judah and him are officially in the same room!! Abby has a empty twin bed next to her waiting for sissy to come home. I can't wait to say "come on girls" "boys stop it!" ha, poor boys. They are like two lion cubs constantly rough housing. Abby joins in once in a while but is nowhere near as rough.
Mason and Judah apparently talked about body functions and while Mason dangled his toes from the top bunk Judah would bite them. I found this out early this morning. Another problem or challenge of them sharing a room is that Judah wakes early, Mason does not. Need I say more. I will figure it out though, this might be the thing that gets our lazy bottoms all out of bed by 6 am. (shiver) I will send pictures of the rooms complete when they are complete, I would love to share before and afters but the rooms are so horrible. So when they are done and the one second they are actually clean I will snap a quick photo of our hard word. I am also trying to save money. Gary and I are on the cheap train to getting out of debt and paying our houses off, I will make a debt ticker as well. But with that said it means I have to decorate their rooms for as cheap as possible. I will reveal my secrets when it all done.
